Gemma – Nursery Manager

Gemma holds a Level 4 Early Years Advanced Practitioner Diploma and a Level 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Gemma joined Berkeley Gardens Day Nursery in October 2012 as a qualified Nursery Nurse. She quickly developed her leadership skills, completing a Level 2 Team Leading course before progressing to Senior Nursery Nurse for the under-twos. In June 2016, Gemma became Third in Charge before being promoted to Deputy Manager in 2016.

As Deputy Manager, Gemma worked closely with the Nursery Manager to support the smooth running of the nursery. She enjoyed spending time across all rooms, building strong relationships with the children and supporting staff with their development, training and practice.

In 2018, Gemma played an important role in helping to establish Waingels Gardens Day Nursery, where she transferred as Deputy Manager. Between 2020 and 2024, Gemma welcomed two children of her own, both of whom have attended settings within the Forbury Group of Nurseries.

In July 2026, Gemma took the next step in her career, becoming Nursery Manager at Woodley Gardens Day Nursery. She brings with her many years of experience, a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and a genuine passion for supporting children to learn, develop and thrive.

Gemma enjoys a hands-on role and can often be found working alongside the children and staff in the rooms, as well as managing the day-to-day running of the nursery from the office. She has a strong understanding of each child’s individual needs and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for every child.
